For more information call CVAS at 717-263-5791 or visit www.cvas-pets.org.

The Newburg Borough has started collecting items to help our four legged friends at the Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter. CVAS is a non profit organization that provides shelter for lost or homeless animals in Northern Franklin County and Southern Cumberland County. The CVAS staff works 365 days a year to clean, medicate, nurture, protect, and ultimately find loving homes for the animals in the kennels. CVAS relies on donations to help these animals and they need our assistance.

Items on their wish list include: Dog/Puppy food (Dye Free), Cat/Kitten food (Dye free) or kitten milk replacer, treats, blankets, towels, toys, liquid laundry soap, bleach, trash bags (55 or 30 gal), leashes, collars, harnesses, and feline pine cat litter.

Donations can be dropped off to the borough office during hours of operation or placed in the gray tote on the porch after hours. Donations will be received until September 30, 2017. If you would like to make a monetary donation you can visit their website at www.cvas-pets.org. Please call the office if you have any questions 717-423-0050.

It has been brought to our attention that there was an error in the Borough of Newburg’s Spring Newsletter. The newsletter stated that you would receive 10% off if you paid your sewer bill for the entire year and that is not correct. I regret to inform everyone that you would save 5% off your sewer bill for the full year. We regret any inconvenience that this may have caused someone. If you have any questions about your sewer bill please contact Newburg-Hopewell Joint Authority at 717-423-6180 or P.O. Box 128, Newburg Pa, 17240. For any other questions please contact the Borough Office at 717-423-0050.
